On the evening of 01/22/22, Dalton Kole Sawyer (31) of Gully was arrested and taken to the jail in Crookston. Mr. Sawyer’s vehicle was stopped by a Red Lake County deputy on Hwy. #92 south of Oklee for an equipment violation. Mr. Sawyer had a revoked driver’s license and several failures to appear and pay fines on his driving record. He was booked for misdemeanor driving after revocation and no proof of current motor vehicle insurance. Mr. Sawyer was released from custody on 01/24/22 and he will be summonsed for a future court appearance in Red Lake Falls sometime in February.
On the evening of 01/22/22, John Scott Malwitz (20) of Red Lake Falls was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation.
In the early morning hours of 01/24/22, parking citations were issued in the city of Red Lake Falls for winter parking ordinance violations.
On 01/25/22, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Tony Lee Iverson (51) of Bagley with felony theft. The criminal complaint alleges Mr. Iverson stole a toolbox, containing approximately $3,000 worth of tools, out of the box of a pickup that was parked along 2nd Ave. in Oklee on the afternoon of 01/12. Attempts to locate the stolen tools and Mr. Iverson have been unsuccessful, but the probable cause has been established to file criminal charges against him. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he remains at large at the time of this release.
On 01/25/22, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Gary Andrew Oleisky (51) of Oklee with a misdemeanor violation of a restraining order. The criminal complaint alleges Mr. Oleisky attempted to video and/or audio record the activities of another individual in Oklee on 09/28/21. An active harassment/restraining order prohibits Mr. Oleisky from engaging in that type of conduct. He will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls sometime in February of 2022.
On 01/27/22, formal criminal complaints were filed, charging two individuals with misdemeanor domestic assault. The criminal complaint alleges Jeremy Matthew Gerardy (36) of Thief River Falls and Michelle Marie Jax (39) of Erskine, assaulted each other, while they were shared household members, at a residence in Poplar River Township on 01/11/22. The involved parties no longer reside together and an existing court order prohibits them from having contact with one another. They will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls in February of 2022.
On the morning of 01/30/22, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the city of Red Lake Falls. It was discovered that no crimes had been committed and the situation was mediated without arrests or citations.
On the morning of 02/01/22, a Red Lake County deputy was on Hwy. #32 north of Red Lake Falls checking on a report of a vehicle in the ditch. That vehicle was unoccupied so the deputy was returning to Red Lake Falls and they witnessed another vehicle drive into the ditch. The driver of that vehicle was not injured and the deputy gave them a ride back to Red Lake Falls.
On 02/01/22, a Red Lake County deputy investigated a report of harassment in the city of Oklee. That investigation is ongoing.
On the morning of 02/02/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. The reporting party claimed their child was acting unruly and refusing to go to school. A Red Lake County deputy responded and mediated the situation.
On the afternoon of 02/02/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stop arm violation on CR. #5 north of Oklee. A juvenile male from Oklee was cited for the school bus stop arm violation.
On the evening of 02/02/22, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle in the city of Plummer for an equipment violation and the driver had a suspended driver’s license. Investigation during the stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. Randy Allen Lamb (43) of Oklee was arrested, taken to the jail in Crookston and he was booked for felony possession of an illegal controlled substance and misdemeanor driving after suspension. Mr. Lamb remains in custody at the time of this release.
On the evening of 02/02/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible harassment/restraining order violation in the city of Red Lake Falls. That report remains under investigation.
