MEDINA, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – On November 23, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper responded to a report of a vehicle driving recklessly on Interstate 94. The driver, 37-year-old Angelo White, was stopped and found to be under the influence of alcohol. During the arrest, White physically assaulted the State Trooper, resulting in a struggle until backup arrived.
A Foster County Sheriff’s Deputy, who was passing by, stopped to assist and was also assaulted by White. Additional officers from NDHP and Stutsman County responded shortly after.
White was charged with multiple offenses, including Driving While License Suspended, DUI (both actual physical control and refusal to submit to a chemical test), Simple Assault on a Peace Officer (two counts), Contact by Bodily Fluids Against Law Enforcement, and Resisting Arrest.
White is currently in custody at Stutsman County Jail. The NDHP Trooper sustained minor injuries and is recovering at home.
The NDHP thanked the public for reporting dangerous driving behaviors, which contributed to the swift resolution of this incident.
