MOORHEAD, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – Valley Property Partners LLC, operating as “House Dudes,” has been ordered to pay a total of $4 million in restitution and $10,000 in fines after failing to provide required lead-based paint disclosures to a home purchaser.

This violation of the Toxic Substances Control Act occurred during the sale of a pre-1978 home in Hillsboro in 2019.

In 2022, two children, aged one and two, were diagnosed with elevated blood lead levels.

An inspection by the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality later confirmed the presence of lead-based paint in multiple areas of the home, including the children’s playroom.

As part of the penalty, Valley Property Partners LLC has committed to displaying a notice on its website about the risks of lead-based paint exposure and their disclosure obligations to home buyers.
