RaeAnn L. Wald, 65, of Grand Forks, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at her home after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
RaeAnn Louise Vasek was born September 17, 1958 in Grand Forks, ND to William and Lucille (McGrath) Vasek. She grew up and attended country school in Tabor, MN before graduating from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1976. RaeAnn worked as a bookkeeper for Valley Dairy and Grand Forks Glass and Paint. On July 16, 1982, RaeAnn married Tom Wald at Sacred Heart in East Grand Forks. They made their home in East Grand Forks and were blessed with three children. After having children she went to work as a Para in the EGF school system. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, worked on the Huntsville Township board for many years, enjoyed bible study at Hope Church, reading, playing cards, traveling to warm places including winters in Arizona, but her greatest joy was her grandkids.
RaeAnn is survived by her husband Tom Wald of Grand Forks, children Branden Wald of East Grand Forks, Kaitlin Macleod of Grand Forks, and Parker Wald of Fargo; grandchildren Addilyn Wald, Archie Wald, and Nathan MacLeod; siblings Dennis Vasek of Fargo, Kathy (Rick) Bushee of Mandan, Alan (JoAnne) Vasek of Grand Forks, Nancy (Bill) Nisbet of East Grand Forks, Joe (Kathy) Vasek of Fargo, Kris (Troy) Cummings of Grand Forks, and Brenda Vasek of Florida; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Lucille Vasek and brother Eugene Vasek.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM, Friday, May 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Service will be live-streamed at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com
VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart on Friday.
