Protest Camp “Camp Necessity” Continues in Bemidji: Eviction Deadline Looms

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Alex Stone is reporting with an update on the ongoing homeless protest in Bemidji. Dubbed “Camp Necessity,” this encampment has set up in the railroad corridor just south of downtown Bemidji. As of Saturday afternoon, about a dozen people are camped out in seven to ten tents.

This protest follows the seasonal closure of the Wolf Center, a local homeless shelter, leaving many without a place to stay. Authorities have informed the protestors that they must vacate the area by 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

TRF News will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as they become available.
