Grafton, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grafton man, Charles Donald Stewart, is facing felony charges after allegedly hiding his fugitive son from law enforcement. This stems from an investigation that began on November 12, 2025, when authorities suspected Stewart’s son was hiding at his residence.
According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement had information that Stewart’s son had active felony arrest warrants. Officers were suspicious that the fugitive was at Stewart’s home, but he neither confirmed nor denied this during their conversation.
Stewart was informed of his son’s active warrants during the interaction with authorities. Despite this, law enforcement continued surveillance while waiting for a search warrant. On November 26, officers received the warrant and executed it at Stewart’s residence.

When questioned about a camper on the property, Stewart reportedly responded, “You know who was in the camper?” Officers then located and arrested the fugitive inside.
Stewart was arrested for hindering law enforcement, accused of knowingly allowing his son to remain at the property without notifying authorities. As a result, he now faces a felony charge.
