Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Ryan Adam Benoit, 35, of Thief River Falls, faces charges of felony failure to register as a predatory offender. The police juvenile investigator received information from a probation officer on April 2, alleging Benoit’s use of an unregistered cell phone number.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that Benoit had not listed this particular cell phone number among the four registered numbers. The discovery was made when Benoit’s probation officer confiscated his phone during his arrest on a probation warrant. Further scrutiny revealed a call from a female inmate on December 28, where the recipient identified himself as “Ryan,” confirmed to be Benoit’s voice by his probation officer.
A warrant was issued on April 12 in connection with the complaint. Benoit remains in custody due to a parole violation.
