Possible Solution Identified for Small, Homeless Encampment in Downtown Bemidji

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) TRF News stumbled upon an apparent solution to a small homeless encampment problem in downtown Bemidji, Minnesota.
inews apparently stumbled upon an apparent solution to what was becoming a small homeless encampment problem here at the now vacant federal building in downtown bemidji the vacant building was sold to a company in new york after a new federal building was built at another location i was contacted by a bemidji viewer who was concerned about homeless people starting to hang out here in the basement stairwell of the building by the back loading ramp well here’s your tour of all kinds of graffiti bags of stuff and even blankets tucked in the back corner i contacted police chief mike maston who said since this is private property police must first get a request from the property owner requesting they leave then if they refuse to move on they could be cited for trespassing so i tracked down the property owner in new york city a spokesperson told me they weren’t aware of the problem until now and they’ve contacted police requesting that people hanging out around here be told to move along meanwhile i also asked if they have any plans for this building yet i’m told the owner is talking with developers about the possibility of turning this into apartments or maybe even a hotel here in downtown bemidji i’m Neil Berg reporting for news dot tv

  1. thanks for looking into this – tho it raises a whole lot of questions, like 1] where is the new fed. building, 2] why was there a need for a new fed bldng. 3] who are the new owners 4] why would they buy this & not even know what they're going to do with it 5] why would the cops say they couldn't do anything [it's obviously a health hazard & 'attractive nuisance etc.], 6] how is telling them to 'move along' a 'solution? Is that like maxine waters' telling homeless people to "go home"??? P.S. – someone should check what's under that black tarp in the corner…..

  2. Homelessness Is getting bad up here not only Homelessness its the crime and the lack of resources to handle these situations.
You mix in drugs and alcohol along with peoples mental health
