DETROIT LAKES, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Matthew Brett Hukriede, 37, of rural Ponsford, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for a gross misdemeanor charge of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images. A felony count and a second gross misdemeanor charge were dismissed in a plea agreement.
According to court records, on May 19, 2023, Hukriede threatened a woman via text to share her naked photos with friends and post them on Facebook. He claimed to have posted the pictures on Facebook for about 11 minutes before they were taken down. He also said he sent the pictures to others. A second woman reported that Hukriede sent a picture of her breasts, along with the first woman’s naked photos, to her 4-year-old daughter’s iPad account.
Hukriede admitted to sending the photos out of anger and claimed he did not realize he sent them to a child’s account. He also admitted to threatening to post the photos on Facebook but denied actually doing so.
On April 10, District Judge Michelle Lawson issued a stay of imposition, which means successful completion of probation will reduce the charge to a misdemeanor. Hukriede was sentenced to seven days in jail, with credit for two days served. The remaining five days will be served on electronic home monitoring at his expense. He was fined $1,000 plus $75 in court fees and was ordered to undergo comprehensive and diagnostic assessments and follow all recommendations. He was placed on unsupervised probation for two years.
