Ponsford Man Indicted for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Minor on White Earth Reservation

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Joseph Schultz, 42, of Ponsford, has been indicted on charges of aggravated sexual abuse and abusive sexual contact involving a minor under the age of 12 on the White Earth Indian Reservation. According to court documents, the alleged abuse occurred between October 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023, within the boundaries of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe Indian Reservation.

Schultz made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court today before Magistrate Judge Jon T. Huseby. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Carla J. Baumel and Michael P. McBride, following an investigation by the FBI and the White Earth Tribal Police Department.

It’s important to note that an indictment is only an allegation, and Schultz is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
