Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Polk County woman is facing felony meth possession and driving while impaired charges after probation officers say they located her with drugs near a park zone in East Grand Forks.
According to a criminal complaint filed in the Ninth Judicial District Court, the incident occurred on July 17, 2025, when East Grand Forks Police were asked by a probation agent to locate Gaylyn Ann Cluchie, 39, for a drug screening related to a prior conviction.
Officers found Cluchie driving in East Grand Forks and stopped her in an alley behind her residence. During a search of her vehicle, police reportedly found used syringes, marijuana, and a baggie of methamphetamine inside a metal tin in the center console.
Cluchie allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine the previous day in Grand Forks and stated she has been using about once per week since April. Officers noted that her travel route passed within 300 feet of Sherlock Park, which elevates the charge to third-degree possession in a prohibited zone.
Cluchie is charged with:
-
Third-Degree Controlled Substance Crime – Possession in a Prohibited Zone (Felony)
-
Fourth-Degree DWI – Any Amount of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
If convicted on the felony count, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The case is filed under 60-CR-25-1154 in Polk County District Court.
