Polk County (https://trfnews.i234.me) – A 19-year-old woman from McIntosh is facing multiple assault charges, including two felony counts of Second-Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, after allegedly throwing knives at her mother and a caregiver during a domestic altercation.

According to a complaint filed in Polk County District Court, Kyra Ann St. Clair, born November 21, 2005, was arrested on June 12, 2025, after deputies responded to a home at 440 Cleveland Ave. SW for a report of domestic violence.

When officers arrived, they spoke with both victims—St. Clair’s mother, K.P., and a personal care assistant, M.L.T., both women, reported that St. Clair became enraged during a discussion about finances and possible foreclosure. The confrontation escalated when St. Clair attempted to kick her mother’s walker out from under her and then threw two steak knives at both women as they tried to leave the house.

K.P., who recently had back surgery and is disabled, told officers she feared for her life and that one of the knives came dangerously close to her face. Both women said this was not the first time St. Clair had been violent.

St. Clair later admitted to law enforcement that she was having a mental health crisis, citing autism, ADHD, depression, and anxiety. She also claimed she didn’t intend to hit anyone, only to be heard. However, police observed marks on the wall consistent with knives striking the surface and recovered two sharp steak knives from the kitchen floor.

St. Clair was charged with:

  • Count I: Felony Second-Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (against M.L.T.)

  • Count II: Felony Second-Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (against K.P.)

  • Count III: Misdemeanor Domestic Assault

She is currently detained at the Northwest Regional Correction Center.
