Polk County Residents Targeted by Jury Duty Scam Calls

Polk County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to residents about a recent surge in scam calls. Individuals are receiving calls from scammers posing as Polk County employees, falsely claiming that the recipient has missed jury duty and that a warrant has been issued for their arrest. The callers then demanded payment over the phone to resolve the alleged warrant.

Authorities emphasize that this is a scam. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office does not collect any type of fee over the phone or in person. Residents are advised not to provide any personal or financial information to these callers.

If you receive such a call, do not engage with the caller. Instead, hang up immediately and report the incident to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 218-281-0431.
