Polk County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Crookston man with prior DWI convictions is facing new criminal charges after allegedly driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .20 and possessing an open package of cannabis in his vehicle.

On May 25, 2025, Crookston Police Officer Sean Murphy stopped Joshua Tyler Noah, 38, after clocking him speeding at 54 mph in a 45 mph zone. During the stop, Officer Murphy noted signs of impairment, including watery, bloodshot eyes, the smell of alcohol, and nervous behavior. Noah admitted to drinking until 3 a.m. that morning and refused to complete a field sobriety test. A preliminary breath test registered a .17 BAC, and a later breath test at the jail confirmed a .20 BAC.

A vehicle search also uncovered raw marijuana in an open, noncompliant package. Noah was arrested and charged with:

  1. Second-Degree DWI – BAC .16 or More with Prior Offense (Gross Misdemeanor)

  2. Cannabis Open Package Violation (Misdemeanor)

Noah has a prior DWI conviction from 2022 and two more outside the ten-year window. He could face up to 364 days in jail and $3,000 in fines for the DWI charge alone.
