Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – TRF News has learned that a Winger man is facing serious charges following an investigation by Polk County deputies. Michael Gene Oppegard Jr. of Winger, Minnesota, is now charged with five felony counts of possessing pornographic work involving minors.
According to court documents, the case began when an ex-girlfriend discovered flash drives that allegedly contained child pornography. Deputies later executed a search of Oppegard’s cell phone. Investigators reported finding multiple illegal images, including material showing adults engaged in sexual acts with children as young as four years old.
Each of the five felony charges carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison under Minnesota law. Oppegard is expected to make a court appearance in Polk County District Court as the case moves forward.
Authorities emphasize that possession of child pornography is a serious crime that can result in lengthy prison sentences and permanent consequences. Investigators continue to review the evidence, and more charges could follow.
