Felony fifth degree controlled substance crime and fourth driving while impaired
On Dec. 4 at 12:51 a.m., police per- formed a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 32 and 130th Avenue. Paul Joseph Hager, 62, St, Hilaire, has been charged with felony fifth degree controlled substance crime and fourth degree DWI. He was arrested. Hager allegedly possessed three bags of methamphetamine weighing a total of 6.5 grams and a pipe containing meth residue.
Domestic assault and interference with an emergency telephone call
On Nov. 28 at 11:14 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic assault at Seven Clans Casino, Hotel and Water Park. Victor Ricardo Jones, 37, Atlanta, has charges pending for domestic assault and interference with an emegency telephone call. He was arrested. Jones allegedly assaulted a Huntsville, Ala., woman and then hit her again when she tried to use her phone to call for help.
On Nov. 28 at 2:39 p.m., police received a report of trespassing at Walmart. Matthew Wade Sorenson, 39, St. Cloud, has been cited for trespassing. He was allegedly present in the store even though he was ordered to not be there.
On Nov. 25 at 1:13 p.m., police received a report of an accident at the Pennington Soil and Water Conservation District office. At the time of the accident, Timothy J. Szymanski of Thief River Falls was driving a 1999 GMC Sierra. Instead of braking to park the vehicle, Szymanski pushed the accelerator. His pickup truck then collided with the building and hit a parked car inside the building. The impact of the crash pushed the car into a cooler that was in front of it.
On Dec. 3 at 4:26 p.m., police received a report of an accident in the Pennington Square parking lot. At the time of the accident, Jason J. Mayer of Strandquist was driving a 2005 Chevy Silverado in the parking lot. According to the report, his pickup truck then struck the overhang of the building. No injuries were reported.
Harassment/restraining order violation
On Nov. 30 at 9:27 a.m., police received a report of a violation of a harassment/ restraining order. Kevin Auther Martens, 54, St. Hilaire, has been cited for a harassment/restraining order violation. He allegedly contacted a Thief River Falls woman via the internet even though she has a harassment/restraining order filed against him.
DWI and open bottle
On Nov. 27 at 3:30 a.m., police received a report that a man was in his vehicle and yelling profanities in the parking lot of Pennington Main. Shawn Edward Scully, 34, Thief River Falls, has been cited for DWI. Kimberly C. Diaz, 32, Bisbee, Ariz., has been cited for open bottle.
On Nov. 28 at 4:55 p.m., police received a report of proper- ty damage in the parking lot of Northland Student Housing, 1003 Longren Ave. Someone had broken a window on a parked vehicle belonging to a Thief River Falls man.
Accident, failure to stop at a stop sign and no seat belt
On Nov. 29 at 12:44 p.m., police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Tindolph Avenue and Nora Street. At the time of the accident, Tristian Allen Comstock of Thief River Falls was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 southbound on Tindolph Avenue. He failed to stop for a stop sign, and his vehicle collided with a 2014 Honda Civic driven by Callie D. Fagerstrom of Thief River Falls. Fagerstrom was driving westbound on Nora Street at the time. It was unknown if there were any injuries. Comstock has been cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and no seat belt worn.
On Nov. 30 at 3:34 p.m., police received a report of vandalism outside of 708 Knight Ave. N. Someone apparently shot a pellet gun at a vehicle window.
Second degree DWI
On Dec. 2 at 9:23 p.m., the sheriff’s office observed a vehicle in a ditch along Center Street East. Quinton Wade Good, 64, Trail, has been charged with second degree DWI.
Third degree DWI
On Dec. 3 at 4:25 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a complaint about a motorist in the vicinity of the Law Enforcement Center. Randy Alan Knutson, 61, Warren, has charges pending for third degree DWI. He was arrested.
Driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety
On Dec. 4 at 10:04 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Third Street and Markley Avenue. Pamela Marie Lill, 45, Thief River Falls, has charges pending for driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety.
Underage drinking and driving, underage consumption and open bottle
On Dec. 5 at 9:28 p.m., police performed a traffic stop near the inter- section of Third Street and Horace Avenue. Joseph Ryan Thompson, 20, Moorhead, has been cited for underage drinking and driving, and open bottle. Brittney Marie Hopkins, 18, Moorhead, has been cited for underage consumption.
On Dec. 6 at 12:12 p.m., police received a report of vehicle tampering in the 300 block of Crocker Ave. N. Someone had tampered with a vehicle; however, nothing appeared to be missing.
