Police Officer from Red Lake Shot and Killed

RED LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The Red Lake Tribal Chairman has confirmed a police officer died today. Earlier on this Tuesday, TRF News received several messages from Red Lake residents that an officer had been shot.
we have an update regarding a a police officer shooting by red lake minnesota this morning one officer has been shot and killed now this happened about four miles east of the town of red lake or about a mile west of redby uh the actual crime scene is uh just off highway one here uh tucked back in or around a trailer home uh that’s off a side road here now uh we’re also hearing reports that a second officer may have also been injured in this uh no official word on that yet uh but here’s a statement from uh tribal uh chairman seki quote it is with a heavy heart to announce that the red lake nation lost a peace officer this morning chairman seki is directing all tribal programs and businesses to lower flags to half staff throughout the week out of respect and to honor the fallen officer chairman seki is closing all non-essential tribe tribal programs today sincere condolences to uh family and friends prayers and strength to the red lake nation during this difficult time again uh confirmation from the red lake tribal council that an officer was killed today we’re also hearing a report that a second officer may have been injured we’re waiting to hear more from the tribal safety director and or the fbi i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

  1. Once again they're proving that their need for secrecy about crimes committed on reservations outweighs any consideration for public safety. No word about where the murderer is, what led up to this situation, & what the public needs to do.

  2. Given this tragic incident took place and occurred on a reservation (considered Federal I believe) who takes over and assumes responsibility for the investigation as well as charging the suspects? FBI or BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs)?
