Police confirm a man was shot and killed this morning in Minneapolis

Minneapolis police confirm a man was shot and killed this morning around 6:30 a.m. on the 900 block of 20th Ave. S. – There have been no arrests.

MEDIA RELEASE: “At 6:32 a.m., Minneapolis police officers from the 3rd Precinct responded to reports of a shooting on 900 block of 20th Ave S. At the scene, first responders found a 31-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Emergency medical services provided life-saving measures before transporting the injured male to Hennepin County Medical Center. Despite best efforts, the man died at the hospital. Preliminary information indicates that shooter was known to the victim.

Officers secured the scene and canvased the area. Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Homicide detectives responded to begin their investigation. There have been no arrests. MPD is investigating. The GO number is 23- 313127.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the adult male’s name along with the cause and nature of his death.”
