Plainview, MN (trfnews.i234.me)On Thursday, May 22, 2025, at approximately 4:41 PM, a serious two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 247 and 10th Street NW in Plainview, Wabasha County. A 2014 Dodge Caravan and a 2006 Ford Pickup, both traveling westbound on Highway 247, collided at the intersection.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan, 70-year-old Denise Mary Jacobs of Plainview, and her passenger, 71-year-old Mark Earl Jacobs, were uninjured. The Ford Pickup was driven by 18-year-old Christian Ricardo Rodriguez, also of Plainview. While Rodriguez and a 1-year-old passenger were unharmed, 21-year-old passenger Gladay Alize Castillo sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys in Rochester.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that all individuals were wearing seat belts, except for Castillo. Airbags deployed in the Ford Pickup but not in the Dodge Caravan. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Road conditions were dry at the time of the incident. Emergency responders included the Plainview Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
