Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Pike Bay man is facing a felony domestic assault charge, according to court records.

Robert Wayne Thunderhawk, 32, of Cass Lake, Minnesota, is named in a criminal complaint filed in Cass County District Court. The case is in the 9th Judicial District. Court file: 11-CR-26-224. Prosecutor file: 0110021385.

What the complaint alleges

The complaint says police were sent to a home in Pike Bay at about 6:32 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2026. The call reported a domestic fight.

The complaint says a dark Dodge Challenger left as police arrived. A Cass County deputy then stopped the vehicle a short time later. The driver was identified as Thunderhawk, the complaint says.

The complaint says an ex-wife, listed as SLT, spoke with police at the home. SLT told police she rode with Thunderhawk to meet family. She said he became upset during the visit.

SLT told police Thunderhawk hit her with an open hand, the complaint says. She said the strike landed on the side of her head.

911 call claim

SLT told police she tried to call 911, the complaint says. She said Thunderhawk tried to grab her phone. She said she threw the phone away from him. She said the attempt separated her from the phone.

Dragging allegation and injury note

SLT told police Thunderhawk then dragged her from the vehicle, the complaint says. She said the dragging tore her coat pocket. She told police her car keys were in that pocket. She said Thunderhawk took the keys and drove away.

SLT reported a burning pain in her lower back, the complaint says. Police reported seeing red and irritated skin on her lower back. Police later found the torn coat inside the stopped car, the complaint says.

Charges filed

Thunderhawk is charged with felony domestic assault. That count cites Minnesota Statute 609.2242. The complaint alleges the felony level is based on prior qualifying convictions within ten years.

He is also charged with interfering with an emergency call. That count cites Minnesota Statute 609.78.

Thunderhawk is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
