Pickup Crashes Into Trees On Highway 61 Near Grand Portage – 71-Year-Old Injured | trfnews.i234.me

GRAND PORTAGE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A single-vehicle crash along Highway 61 near Mineral Center Road sent a 71-year-old man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on the morning of June 22.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 11:11 a.m., a 2023 Ford F-150 driven by Lawrence Clayton Deschampe of Grand Portage was traveling northbound when it veered off the road and struck several trees.

The airbag deployed in the crash, and authorities confirmed that Deschampe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. He was transported to North Shore Health in Grand Marais for treatment.

Road conditions were dry, and alcohol was not a factor.

Responding agencies included the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, Grand Portage Fire and Ambulance, and the Hovland Fire and First Responder teams.
