Perry N. Haugo was born on October 17, 1955, at Northwood Deaconess Hospital in Northwood, ND to parents Vincent and Alice (Hegna) Haugo. He grew up west of Aneta, on the west bank of the Sheyenne River, at his family’s farm, along with his 3 other siblings, David, Bonnie and Delores Haugo. Perry attended school in Aneta, graduating in 1973.
After high school, Perry continued farming with his brother David. In addition to raising crops, Perry and David raised and bred beef cattle. Perry farmed and ranched with his brother, David, all of his life.
Perry was full of life, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering he attended. Perry was a loving son, brother, uncle and great-uncle. He cherished his time spent with his siblings, David and Bonnie, his travels to Hawaii, trips to the lake, golf cart rides around Aneta and countless hours of fun with his nieces Heidi and Christine.
Perry’s devotion to family was unwavering. Perry took great pride in helping raise his 2 nieces, Heidi and Christine and his 4 great nephews, Manatua, Terai, Bryce and David. He was a beacon of kindness and strength and his influence will forever be etched in our hearts.
A true father figure to his nephews, Perry supported his family in ways that words can hardly describe. He provided love, and selflessness, from funding their college education to buying their first cars, always ensuring they had what they needed. His guidance, affection, and devotion shaped their lives, and they will forever be grateful for the way he loved them like his own sons.
Perry was not only a sibling to David, Bonnie and Delores. But also a best friend and confidant.
Perry will be remembered for his ability to connect with people; as well as his sense of humor and his generosity.
