The officer said Martinez showed indicators of impairment during the conversation. Police noted that her behavior, speech, and overall condition led to field sobriety testing. According to the criminal complaint, Martinez was unable to complete the tests.

A preliminary breath test was conducted at the scene. Police say the device showed a 0.17 Blood Alcohol Content reading. Martinez was then transported to the Pennington County Jail for additional testing using a DataMaster DMT device. The test reportedly recorded a 0.18 BAC.

Under Minnesota law, a BAC of 0.16 or higher can result in enhanced penalties. Information on DWI penalties can be found through the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

Martinez was arrested and taken into custody following the traffic stop. She has been charged with third-degree DWI – 0.16 or greater. The case will proceed in Pennington County District Court. Court schedules and filings are available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.

Additional details may be released as the case moves forward.
