Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me)Police responded to a minor vehicle accident in the Heritage Center parking lot late on the morning of November 14. The crash was reported at 11:49 a.m. after two vehicles collided inside the lot. No injuries were reported at the scene, and both drivers remained at the location to speak with officers.

According to the initial report, Jonathan McHam of Thief River Falls was driving a 2002 Dodge Durango. He was backing out of a parking spot and heading north toward the alley that borders the lot. At the same time, Amya McKee, also of Thief River Falls, was entering the lot from the east while driving a 2006 Chevy Impala. The two vehicles met in the lot and collided.

Officers noted that both vehicles sustained some level of damage from the impact. Police documented the positions of the vehicles, took photographs for the report, and spoke with both drivers about the events that led up to the crash. The vehicles were moved from the driving area after the officers completed the initial investigation, allowing the parking lot to return to normal use.

There were no known injuries, and neither driver requested medical attention. Police advised both parties to contact their insurance providers. Officers added the crash information to the daily incident log as a minor property-damage collision.

The Heritage Center parking lot is a common public area with regular traffic from visitors, employees, and residents. Police remind drivers to use caution when backing out of tight parking spots and to check for approaching vehicles from all directions. Parking lot crashes remain one of the most common types of low-speed collisions in the region.

More updates will be provided if additional information becomes available from the police report or insurance follow-up.
