Pennington County Man Faces New Warrant

Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me) A 49-year-old man is now facing a new felony charge after authorities said he failed to follow a required registration rule. The new case also comes after he missed a court hearing in an earlier drug case.

According to the complaint, Bobby Vinton Peralta was checked on March 4 during a visit by a probation officer and an investigator. Peralta had a pending felony drug case at that time. Court records said he was charged with aiding and abetting a first-degree controlled substance crime involving a sale.

Address Check Raises Questions

The complaint said Peralta posted $3,000 cash bail on Feb. 24 and was released from jail. After his release, he listed 723 Oakland Park Road as his primary address.

When authorities went to that address, they learned Peralta was not there. They were also told he did not live there. The complaint said he had not spent any nights at that location.

His secondary address was listed as the Pennington County Jail. Authorities said that the information raised new concerns about whether he was meeting his legal duty to keep his registration current.

Missed Hearing and Active Warrants

The complaint also said Peralta failed to appear for a March 9 hearing in the drug case. A warrant was then issued for his arrest. That warrant remains active.

He has now also been charged with a felony predatory offender registration violation. The complaint said he knowingly failed to meet a registration requirement. A second warrant was issued in that case as well.

Prior Convictions Listed in Complaint

The complaint said Peralta has a prior conviction that requires him to register as a predatory offender. It also listed two earlier felony convictions for violating registration rules. Those convictions were entered in February 2017 and March 2019.

The complaint further said he was convicted in April 2012 of engaging in electronic communication that related to or described sexual conduct with a child.

As of the filing of the complaint, Peralta’s current address was listed as unknown.

This case remains an allegation unless and until it is proven in court. Readers can review official court information through the Minnesota Judicial Branch. More state public safety information is available through the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
