Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me)A series of criminal cases have recently concluded in Pennington County District Court, highlighting a concerning uptick in offenses ranging from driving while impaired to drug possession and theft.

  • Kristie Jo Kampa, 51, of Big Lake: Faced charges for fourth-degree DWI under the influence of a controlled substance. She received a $310 fine, 90 days in jail, stayed for two years, and supervised probation for two years. Additionally, she was given a stay of adjudication for a felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance possession, with continued supervision and mandatory treatment programs.

  • Rayne Austin Villa, 24, of Merrifield: Sentenced to 30 days in jail for theft, with a $210 fine. A felony theft charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

  • Brandon Kenneth Newell, 43, of St. Cloud: Convicted of gross misdemeanor receiving stolen property (motor vehicle). He was fined $210 and credited for 364 days served. Restitution was ordered.

  • David Alan Jourdain, 43, of Thief River Falls: Charged with driving after cancellation, inimical to public safety. He was fined $210, with 91 days in jail considered served, concurrent with another case.

  • Paul Joseph Hager, 67, of Thief River Falls: Faced trespassing charges for returning to a property within one year. He was fined $50 and placed on unsupervised probation for six months.

Pennington County Sheriff’s Office Cases:

  • Ruben Omar Laureano Cabello, 37, of Warroad: Received a stay of adjudication for a felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance crime. He was fined $175, credited for time served, and placed on supervised probation for two years with mandatory treatment programs.

  • Lisa Michelle Reierson Hams, 48, of Thief River Falls: Convicted of second-degree DWI with two aggravating factors. She was fined $1,215, with 364 days in jail stayed for four years, and placed on supervised probation for four years. A charge of leaving the scene of an accident was dismissed.

Minnesota State Patrol Cases:

  • Shawn Duane Rud, 45, of Thief River Falls: Cited for speeding (70/60), resulting in a $125 fine.

  • Jilliana Marie Klemetson, 18, of Thief River Falls: Cited for speeding (60/55), resulting in a $125 fine.

  • Rashied Tanton Malon, 34, of Thief River Falls: Cited for speeding (69/55).

  • Jill Susan Anderson, 50, of Thief River Falls: Charge of expired registration was dismissed.

  • Brooklyn Ray Breuer, 21, of Thief River Falls: Cited for speeding (60/55), resulting in a $125 fine.

  • Izaak Tristen Keefe, 21, of Thief River Falls: Charge of no proof of insurance was dismissed.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Case:
