Pennington County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Thief River Falls man is facing a DWI charge after being found parked on private property on Thursday evening, August 29.

According to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at about 7:36 p.m. near the intersection of Sixth Street and Dawn Avenue. A resident flagged down a deputy to report a suspicious vehicle parked on his property. The resident said it appeared the driver was asleep inside the vehicle.

The deputy approached the vehicle and identified the driver as 64-year-old Ricky Antonio Twine of Thief River Falls. Following the investigation, Twine was cited for driving while impaired and taken into custody. A preliminary breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol content of 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 in Minnesota.

No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was removed from the property. Authorities have not released further details about whether Twine faced additional charges beyond DWI. He is expected to appear in court as the case moves forward.

Under Minnesota law, a DWI charge can carry serious consequences, including fines, license suspension, and possible jail time depending on prior offenses. Repeat offenders face increasingly severe penalties. More information about Minnesota DWI laws can be found through the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety.

The sheriff’s office continues to remind residents to report suspicious or unsafe activity, particularly involving impaired drivers. Incidents like this highlight the role of community members in assisting law enforcement with keeping neighborhoods safe.

The case remains under review, and additional details may be released as court proceedings continue.
