Pennington County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A two-vehicle crash occurred in Thief River Falls on Monday, August 26, but no injuries were reported.
Police say the accident happened at about 4:19 p.m. at the intersection of Horace Avenue and Third Street. According to the official report, Ellen Jorde-Lindseth of Thief River Falls was driving a 2025 Ford Explorer north on Horace Avenue. At the same time, a 2006 Chevy Impala, driven by Violet Tvedt of Plummer, was traveling eastbound on Third Street.
The report states that the Explorer entered the intersection and drove into the path of the Impala. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, causing visible damage to both cars. Despite the impact, no injuries were reported at the scene. Emergency medical assistance was not required, and both drivers were able to remain at the location.
Authorities did not release details on the extent of the damage, but both vehicles were significantly impacted by the crash. It was not immediately known whether either vehicle required towing. Police also did not indicate whether citations were issued as a result of the incident.
Traffic at the intersection was temporarily slowed while officers responded and gathered information. The crash serves as a reminder of the importance of caution at intersections, where right-of-way issues and limited visibility can increase the risk of collisions. According to Minnesota traffic safety resources, intersection crashes are among the most common types of accidents across the state. More information about state traffic laws is available through the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety.
The case remains under review, and police have not provided further updates. Residents are reminded to drive carefully, especially in busy neighborhood areas like Horace Avenue and Third Street.
