Becker County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Pelican Rapids woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after a heated road rage confrontation allegedly escalated into a knife threat near Casey’s on Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes.

According to the criminal complaint, Karlene Theresa Hackley, 51, followed another vehicle after a traffic incident, tailgated the driver, and eventually exited her vehicle with a folding knife in hand, shouting, “F*** you, I’ll f***ing kill you!”

Hackley later admitted to police that she had been having a “bad day” and flashed the knife to “warn” the other driver. Officers recovered the knife, locked in the open position, from her vehicle’s center console.

Hackley now faces three charges:

  1. Felony threats of violence (up to 5 years in prison),

  2. Misdemeanor fifth-degree assault, and

  3. Misdemeanor possession of a dangerous article.

She was arrested and booked into Becker County Jail.
