Pelican Rapids, Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Pelican Rapids man is facing serious charges following a violent confrontation involving a juvenile and an adult earlier this month.

According to court documents, on May 1st, Naser Talic allegedly assaulted a gay juvenile, slapping the victim while also hurling a series of expletives at him. Witnesses state that the confrontation escalated when an adult intervened in an attempt to stop the attack, leading to a physical altercation between the adult and Talic.

Following the incident, authorities charged Naser Talic with the following:

  • Two felony counts of assault, related to the same victim, with allegations noting Talic has two or more prior assault convictions.

  • One misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

Given Talic’s alleged prior convictions, the felony assault charges carry potentially enhanced penalties under Minnesota law (source).

Officials have not yet released detailed information about the victim or the adult involved, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Talic remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
