Patricia Ann Thompson: A Case of Felony Theft in Detroit Lakes

Patricia Ann Thompson, 52, of Detroit Lakes, has been charged with felony theft in Becker County District Court. According to court records, a trailer went missing from the Crisis and Resource Center on August 10, 2024.

Security footage showed the trailer being pulled out of the lot while attached to Thompson’s vehicle. On October 4, a police officer was dispatched to the Crisis Center regarding the stolen trailer.

Thompson initially denied knowing anything about it but later stated she had borrowed the trailer and would return it. However, when asked where the trailer currently was, she provided conflicting information, stating it was at an apartment in Mahnomen or her sister’s residence without providing addresses.

She then claimed to have spoken with someone on the phone regarding returning the trailer, only to mention a deceased individual. The value of the stolen trailer is over $1,000.

On October 7, Thompson was released without bond under conditions that include no contact with Lakes Crisis Center unless seeking emergency services. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 9 before District Court Judge Elizabeth V. Cutter.
