Hubbard County (trfnews.i234.me) — Richard Lee Fenzel, 34, of Akeley, is charged in Park Rapids.

Investigators say the case involved fake returns of computer gear.

Fenzel is charged with Theft of movable property without consent, a gross misdemeanor, in Hubbard County District Court. The complaint lists the alleged offense date as January 10, 2026. The case was filed on February 18, 2026.

What investigators allege

Court records say Walmart Asset Protection in Park Rapids reported the case and shared video. The report reached law enforcement on January 13, 2026.

The complaint says a man identified as Cameron Bense entered the store on January 10. Records say he bought a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card for about $299.

Investigators say Bense walked the item to a grey minivan. He then returned to the electronics area with the box.

Records say Bense asked to trade for a higher model. The complaint says he upgraded to a GeForce RTX 5070 priced near $549.

After the trade, the van left and later returned to the grocery entrance, records say. Investigators allege the van dropped off Fenzel.

Records say Fenzel went to customer service with the RTX 5070 box and a receipt. The complaint says he received a cash refund.

What was found in the boxes

Walmart staff later checked the returned items, according to the complaint. The RTX 5060 box allegedly held an older used card.

The complaint says the serial number did not match the box. Records say the RTX 5070 box did not contain a card.

Instead, the box allegedly held two pieces of wood wrapped in plastic, the complaint says.

What happens next

Fenzel was charged by summons, according to court records. Judge Kathryn Lorsbach signed the complaint.

Fenzel is scheduled to appear in Hubbard County District Court to answer the charge. Prosecutors must prove the claims in court.

Charges are accusations and do not prove guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted.
