Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) – Randy Lloyd Hendershot, a 66-year-old resident of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, is facing multiple charges stemming from two separate incidents in April 2025.
Domestic Assault Charge
On April 7, 2025, Hendershot was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault under Minnesota Statute §609.2242, subdivision 1(2). This statute pertains to individuals who intentionally inflict or attempt to inflict bodily harm upon a family or household member. A conviction under this statute carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.
Driving After License Cancellation
Subsequently, on April 14, 2025, Hendershot was sentenced for driving after his driver’s license had been canceled as inimical to public safety, a gross misdemeanor offense under Minnesota Statute §171.24, subdivision 5. This statute applies to individuals whose licenses have been canceled due to concerns that their operation of a motor vehicle would be detrimental to public safety. A conviction can result in up to one year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
Driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety is often associated with individuals who have multiple DWI offenses. The state may cancel a person’s driving privileges when there is good cause to believe that their operation of a motor vehicle would be inimical to public safety or welfare.
