Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me)—A high-speed pursuit in Fergus Falls culminated in the arrest of 42-year-old Rafael Buenfil on March 28, 2025. According to court documents, Buenfil fled a traffic stop, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour. The chase was terminated for safety reasons, but his vehicle was later spotted on Big Chief Road, a dead-end street south of Fergus Falls, where he was apprehended. Authorities discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from a dealership in Richfield, and Buenfil was allegedly in possession of 14.8 grams of methamphetamine. He now faces multiple felony charges in Otter Tail County, including fleeing law enforcement, third-degree drug possession, and failure to register as a predatory offender.
