Otter Tail County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A devastating early morning fire destroyed a large commercial building containing multiple businesses southeast of New York Mills. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department reports that the blaze broke out at approximately 1:28 a.m. Friday in Newton Township.
Deputies, along with firefighters from the New York Mills Fire Department, the Bluffton Fire Department, and the Deer Creek Fire Department, rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the building completely engulfed in flames. Despite their best efforts, the structure, home to several local businesses, was deemed a total loss.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities confirmed that all individuals were safely accounted for.
The origin of the fire remains unknown. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, alongside the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, has launched an official investigation to determine the cause (Otter Tail County Sheriff).
