Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) – TRF News has learned that a Perham man is facing serious firearm-related charges. According to court records, Evan Kervens Siira of Perham has been charged with felony dangerous weapons furnishing to minors under 18.
The case began on September 15 when an Otter Tail County detective received information from Detroit Lakes Police about a juvenile found with an AR-style pistol. During questioning, the juvenile told investigators that he got the weapon from another juvenile.
Law enforcement then contacted that second juvenile, who was also found in possession of a P80 Glock handgun. The juvenile admitted that both firearms were purchased from a male at Arvig Park in Perham. He said he paid $750 for one firearm and $650 for the other.
Authorities identified the seller as Siira. Based on the evidence gathered, he was charged with providing firearms to underage individuals. Police stress that selling firearms to minors poses a serious risk to public safety and will be prosecuted aggressively.
The case is proceeding in Otter Tail County District Court. For more details on firearm laws and penalties, visit the Minnesota Firearm Statutes page.
