Otter Tail Co. Man Charged in Fake Gun Threat
FERGUS FALLS, OTTER TAIL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fergus Falls man is facing felony charges after allegedly pointing a fake gun at another person in a downtown incident.
According to court documents, police were dispatched on September 20 to a downtown Fergus Falls apartment. The victim reported that while sitting in a vehicle, Isaiah Northington walked up, lifted his shirt, and pulled out what looked like a gun. He then pointed it at the victim while laughing.
Responding officers quickly located Northington and determined the weapon was a replica firearm. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported in the incident.
Northington was arrested and is now charged with two felony counts of threats of violence. Authorities have not released additional information about a possible motive or relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The case remains active in Otter Tail County District Court. Police reminded the public that brandishing even a fake gun can lead to serious charges and risks during police response.
