Original Wednesday Addams dies at 64

Lisa Loring was an actress best known for playing Wednesday Addams in the 1960s TV sitcom “The Addams Family.”

Acting career

Loring was just six years old when she began playing Wednesday in the 1964 debut of “The Addams Family.” Her portrayal of the sweet but morbid little girl with a pet black widow spider became iconic. In the recent Netflix series “Wednesday,” Jenna Ortega paid tribute to Loring’s portrayal in a much-shared dance scene. Loring later had a recurring role on “As the World Turns” as Cricket Montgomery. Her other TV appearances included “Dr. Kildare,” “The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,” and “Fantasy Island.” Loring also appeared in movies including “Savage Harbor” and “Way Down in Chinatown.”
