RED LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Red Lake Nation’s NativeCare cannabis dispensary is celebrating its first anniversary this week. It was the first recreational cannabis retailer in Minnesota, opening its doors on August 1, 2023. This milestone marks a significant moment for the state, as Red Lake tribal leaders were the first to launch a dispensary following the legalization of cannabis by state lawmakers the previous year.
Since then, other tribal communities such as the White Earth Nation and Prairie Island have also established marijuana dispensaries. Non-tribal cannabis retailers are anticipated to begin operating in Minnesota next year.
