Red Lake Man Sentenced to Five Years for Child Neglect Resulting in Death

ST. PAUL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Julius Fineday Sr., a resident of Red Lake, Minnesota, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for felony child neglect leading to the death of a child. Court documents revealed that Fineday, 42, deprived the child of essential food, healthcare, and other basic needs, resulting in malnutrition and a Group A Streptococcus infection. This neglect occurred between January 1 and December 25, 2022. Fineday and his co-defendant, Sharon Rosebear, failed to provide adequate care, including not addressing the child’s head lice or taking the child to school or a doctor regularly. Rosebear was convicted of felony child neglect in April 2024 and is awaiting sentencing.
