Onamia Township (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 9, 2025, at 10:13 AM, a 2003 Ford F150 rolled off the road on Highway 169 near 310th Street in Onamia Township, Mille Lacs County. The driver, 72-year-old Stephen James Yoos of Coon Rapids, MN, lost control of the vehicle on icy road conditions. The truck slid off the road, rolling before coming to a stop.

Yoos and his passenger, 70-year-old Kenneth Dana Ruud, also of Coon Rapids, were both wearing seat belts at the time of the incident. Despite the rollover, both men sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Neither alcohol nor helmets were involved in the crash.

The road conditions at the time were snow-covered and icy, making travel hazardous. Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, Mille Lacs Ambulance, and Onamia Fire responded quickly to the scene. Yoos and Ruud were assessed on-site, but neither required transport to a medical facility.

The incident temporarily disrupted traffic as authorities worked to clear the scene. The icy conditions continue to be a safety concern for drivers traveling in the area.
