MARION TOWNSHIP, Olmsted County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Rochester man was injured early Saturday morning following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 14. The crash occurred near mile marker 219 at 2:27 a.m. on November 22. The Minnesota State Patrol released the report shortly after 3:30 a.m.

According to the State Patrol, a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling eastbound on Highway 14. The driver swerved and hit the guard rail. The impact pushed the Suburban into the ditch, where it came to rest. Road conditions were dry. No other vehicles were involved.

The crash is listed under reference number ICR 25104577. The report was last updated at 3:33 a.m. on November 22. Officials say the information is believed to be complete. The full report can be accessed through the Minnesota State Patrol website.

The Suburban was driven by Yussuf Salah Diriye, 48, of Rochester. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital. The report states he was wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not involved.

Responders from the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Rochester Fire handled vehicle safety and roadway checks. Mayo Clinic Ambulance transported the injured driver.

Single-vehicle crashes remain common on rural highways, especially at night. Troopers urge drivers to reduce speed and remain alert, even on dry road surfaces. Guard rails help prevent more severe roadway departures, but impacts can still cause significant damage.
