Olmsted Co. Rochester Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Playground Case

Olmsted County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Rochester woman accused of using a racial slur toward a child at a local playground has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges. Court records show Shiloh Hendrix entered the plea through a letter filed by her attorney on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Hendrix faces three misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, each carrying a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. The case stems from a video posted on TikTok in late April, which shows a man confronting a woman later identified as Hendrix at Roy Sutherland Playground in Soldiers Field Park. In the video, she repeats a racial slur directed at a Black child multiple times and makes an obscene gesture toward the camera.

The video quickly spread across social media platforms, amplified by influencers and commentators. It drew millions of views and led to online fundraisers, one for the family of the child and another for Hendrix, each raising six figures.

Hendrix is scheduled for her first court appearance on October 29 in Olmsted County District Court. Minnesota Courts provides updates on pending cases and hearings.

All charges remain allegations at this stage. Hendrix is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
