The Thief River Falls Police Department and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service on Sunday at 1518 Highway 1 east in Thief River Falls. The report was of a domestic assault in progress.
On scene officers found a male sitting inside his vehicle who said that he and his girlfriend were in an argument. A woman then came out of the apartment house and approached both the officer and the deputy. The officers tried to speak with the woman however she began yelling at the man in the vehicle. The officers then escorted the man to the apartment to get some things and leave. He was missing a phone and the woman said she had broken it.
After leaving the apartment, the man went to his vehicle to leave and was followed by the woman who then pulled his hair through the window and spit on him. Officers then placed the woman under arrest despite her resistance. The woman, Brianna Renee Marshall-age 24 of Thief River Falls-was taken to the Pennington County Jail.
At the jail, Marshall got away from jail staff and both a deputy and a police officer responded and assisted jail staff to bring Marshall to a jail cell, During this time, Marshall kicked one officer in the legs and a deputy in the chest.
Monday morning, an order of detention was signed by Judge Tamara Yon for Brianna Renee Marshall for two gross misdemeanor charges of 4th Degree Assault and 1 misdemeanor charge of assault. She is no longer in custody in the Pennington County Jail.
