Wayne John Seng, 76, of Karlstad, MN, passed on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Memorial service will be on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 3 PM in Obit, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be at sea supervised by the United States Navy.
On July 2, 1948, Wayne was born to Otto and Doris (Hodge) Seng at Thief River Falls MN and grew up in Karlstad, MN. He attended school in Karlstad, before entering the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. While at Naval Station in Londonderry, Ireland, Wayne met Mary Dawson. They were married and moved to Grafton, ND and he began his career as a police officer. In January 2008, Mary passed away and Wayne retired shortly after. Wayne developed Parkinson’s disease and entered assisted living in Park River, ND and later, in Crookston, MN.
Wayne was a soft-spoken individual and a great listener. He was very loyal to his friends and family. Watching television became a past time due to Parkinson disease. He loved his grandkids and was always available to them.
Wayne is survived by children: Scott (Jennifer) Seng, Tolleson, AZ and Denise Lee, McHenry, IL, Shannon (Rodney) Bakken, MN and Simonette (Justin) Gram, ND; grandchildren: Ashlyn Pina, Brandon Seng, Victoria Osorio, Katrina Pietruszynski, Austin Olmstead and Marissa Schiebe; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Betty (Tony) Blaze, MN, and Steve (Laurie) Seng; several nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; daughter, Tina Seng; and parents: Otto and Doris (Hodge) Seng.
