Shirley Strand, 87 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.
Private family services will be held at Obit in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be held at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Brooks, MN.
Shirley Maurreen Friese Strand was born September 4, 1936, Minneola Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, to parents Albert and Genevieve (Ottun) Friese.
She married Earl O. Strand on August 27, 1955. They farmed in Roscoe Township until 1968 when they moved to the Brooks area and continued farming.
Shirley enjoyed flowers, gardening, and family. She was a member of Rodnes Lutheran Church in rural Erskine. She loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her 3 children, Rita (Steven) Berry, Brent (Jane) Strand, Mary (Tony) Hoglo; daughter-in-law, Glenda Strand; six grandchildren, Andy (Rachel) Berry, Katie (Justin) Majerus, Conrad Strand, Bradley Strand, Eric (Jessica) Strand and Sophia Hoglo; and 4 great-grandchildren, Eli Strand, Henry Majerus, Isaac Strand, and Emily Majerus.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 2012; and son, Scott in 2020.
