Ronald Lee Shern passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Andover, MN. He was born on July 14, 1944 in Hallock, MN, youngest son of Harry and Randyne (Banken) Shern. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Newfolden High School, Newfolden, MN in 1962. He began his higher education at Aakers Business College, Fargo, North Dakota. He completed his education in 1978, receiving his MBA in Finance from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, MI where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi.
On September 19, 1964 he married Lois Carol Jacobson in Erskine, MN. They are blessed with a daughter Robin (Tom) Humbert, Frisco TX; son Rande (Yukkio) Shern, Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Hannah Brewer, Boston, MA, Joshua Brewer and Benjamin Brewer both in Frisco, TX; brother, Gene (Mel) Shern of Petaluma, CA. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Gerald “Jerry” and sister-in-law Diana “Penny” Shern.
Over the years Ron worked in the world of business finance and insurance. He was employed at DMH in Red Lake Falls, MN and St. Louis, MI; TruGreen Inc, E. Lansing, MI and Atlanta, GA; Wolverton Pet Supplies, Lansing, MI; and All Green, Marietta, GA. In 1992 he joined the PEO industry. He partnered with Allstaff, Inc., Lawrenceville, GA and eventually established his own business, Allsource Consulting Services, Inc. He was still active in the company at the time of his death.
Ron was a “forever friend” to many. He was a kind and thoughtful neighbor, respected businessman, active participant in church, and enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Marietta, GA Rotary Club. He loved basketball, golf, reading, boating, camping, and teaching and playing sports with his grandchildren. Many trips were made to the local ice cream store in both summer and winter. Ron and Lois were loving partners in family and work for 57 wonderful years. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations may be made in Ron’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 145 2nd St., Newfolden, MN. August 20, 2022. 1:00 pm Visitation. 1:30 Celebration of Life. Refreshments and ice cream will be served. Casual dress please.
