Rhonda Vigness passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Thief River Falls, MN.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 10:30 AM in Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Ale Tulu Officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Rhonda Gail Vigness was born February 28, 1955 daughter of John and Mavis (Erickson) Besserud in Fort Hood, TX. The family moved to Roseau, then to Crookston and finally Thief River Falls.
In September 9, 1973 she was united in marriage to Steven Hall at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. They lived in Thief River Falls, moved to Georgia, Alaska, Kentucky and Wisconsin before moving back to Thief River Falls. To this union two children were born Jenny and Tammy.
On September 5, 1986 she was united in marriage to Jon Vigness at his home in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls where she was employed at Oakland Park Nursing Home, Northern Pride and Hugo’s and for the last years employed at Digi Key.
She enjoyed crafting, sewing, ironing, bossing Jon around, and traveling. She was an animal lover but most of all she loved the time spent with family. Rhonda loved her bible and had a very strong faith.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Jon Vigness of Thief River Falls, MN; children Jenny Bransen of Grantsburg, WI and Tammy (Bob) Ballard of Thief River Falls, MN, Jamie Vigness of Duluth, MN; grandchildren Cole Altepeter, Cody Altepeter, Becca Ballard, Amellia Ballard, Logan Ballard, Jordan Vigness and Ben Vigness; great-grandchildren Margeaux Altepeter, Lucas Altepeter, Max Altepeter, Kayden Altepeter, Jax Altepeter; mother Mavis Besserud of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings Debbie (Mark) Bernhardson of Cloquet, MN, Steven Besserud of Thief River Falls, MN, Scott (Rhonda) Besserud of Thief River Falls, MN, Darsey (Todd) Lewis of Winger, MN; along with several nieces and nephews; her four legged friend Buddy.
She is preceded in death by her father John Besserud, brother Stuart Besserud, In-laws Lester and Lois Vigness, and sister-in-law Nancy Hoythya.
