Neil Erickson, of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away peacefully, in his sleep, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 53.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow at the St. Hilaire Community Cemetery in St. Hilaire, MN.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.
Neil David Erickson was born on December 28th, 1971 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Arthur and Betty ‘Smith’ Erickson.
Neil was raised in the Plummer area, where he graduated from Pershing High School with the Class of 1990. Following high school, he pursued collegiate studies at the University of North Dakota.
He spent his working years working various positions at DigiKey and Arctic Cat. Across all those positions, he took great pride in his work and enjoyed helping his co-workers, enjoying particularly his duties as a mentor.
Neil enjoyed road trips, camping, long walks, and spending summer days on Golden Pond. He loved deeply his children, grandchildren, and cat, Jo.
To understand who Neil was as a person, one needs only to understand the simple joy in sharing stories and laughter around a campfire with friends and family. He was a kind and warm man, who brought happiness to all those whose lives he touched. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Betty Erickson; his brother, Wayne (Pam) Erickson; his sister, Angie Erickson; his children, Michael (Teagan) Erickson, Shay (Jenna) Erickson, and Aubrey Erickson; his grandchildren, Brooks, Wren, Elijah, and Ezra; and his nieces and nephews, Zakk, Tyler, Kole, Kaela, Alex, and Annie.
