Marjorie Diane Kuznia, 83, passed away Sunday May 5, 2024, while residing at North Manor Nursing Home in Warren, MN.
Marjorie was born to Steven & Dorothy Zippa in Warren, MN on April 4, 1941, and was one of six siblings with one of the siblings dying early in life. She was baptized in the Catholic faith and at the age of two moved with her family from Warren to Argyle, MN. She attended parochial school in Argyle and was confirmed at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Marjorie graduated from Argyle High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Robert T. Kuznia on November 14, 1959. Bobby took his new wife to St. Paul and lived there until they returned to Argyle. They had four children together: Brian, Lynn, Jason, & Shelley. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1965 for Bobby to work with the UPS Company; he remained with the company for 34 years until his retirement in 1998. In 1998, soon after his retirement, they moved to Casper, WY to be with their children that had moved to the area. He resided there with his wife and children until his death on May 14, 2012. After her husband’s death, Marjorie moved back to Minnesota and resided for many years in a townhome where she received many old acquaintances as guests. She reveled in having this company come to see her as they had been friends for years. Marjorie moved to North Star Nursing Home in the last couple of years and forged numerous meaningful relationships in the facility from other residents and the staff. She really flowered being around other people, often times becoming an advocate for those residing in the home, and she was very happy in her last days. Community is so important for our elderly.
Throughout her life, Marjorie loved playing cards and could do so until the sun came up. When she moved back to Warren, MN she joined a pinochle group with people she had known for years. This became something she really looked forward to. The community she felt there was filled with people teasing her about her antics. She loved it.
She was always of sound mind and could recall every old movie and all the cast. It was fun to watch these old movies with her and hear the back stories of the stars.
Marjorie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She just lit up when around family, and especially, small children. With today’s technology she was able to video chat with her great grandchild almost daily.
She is survived by her children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Steve & Dorothy Zippa and her father and mother in-law Bert & Martha Kuznia, and her sisters Mary Ann Zippa & Betty Conway. She lost her husband, Robert Kuznia in 2012.
A Memorial date will be announced at a later time.
